Monica Urges Scottish Government Minister to Halt Controversial Ravenscraig Development Plans

Monica has written formally to Minister for Planning urging him to reject redevelopment  plans that would see a Russell Group transport hub built in Motherwell.

The letter highlights the important role that Ravenscraig Community Action Group have played in scrutinising the application, resulting in North Lanarkshire Council rejecting the planning application back in December 2022.

She said:  “I urge the Scottish Government to listen to residents and prioritise implementing the Ravenscraig Promise rather than letting Russel Group plans interfere with the wishes of those who live there.

“Ravenscraig is a thriving community that is full of potential, and I strongly believe that a commitment to the Ravenscraig Promise is the only route forward to a brighter future for the area.

“Ravenscraig Community Action Group have been brilliant in building an informed and strong opposition to the redevelopment and it is now time for the Scottish Government to step in and reject these damaging plans.”
