Monica Praises Juniors Play Café For Raising Outstanding £40,000

Monica has commended Lesley Robertson, owner of Juniors Play Café and her entire team in a parliament motion after they raised an impressive £40,000 at their successful charity night “holding out for a hero”.

The evening was organised to raise funds for community activities and events after the Scottish Government pulled crucial funding for the Hamilton-based café earlier this year.

The charity evening took place on the 27th of May at the Glasgow Hilton and included live music hosted by Go Radio’s Gina McKie.

Monica commented:

It makes my heart sing to see local people come together to celebrate and support this beloved and vital community hub.

“Juniors is so much more than a café, it is an inclusive community space that has become a saving grace for many families during the cost-of-living crisis by running weekly foodbanks, baby banks and money management support services.

“After such a tough few months for Lesley and the Juniors team after their funding was pulled, it’s incredible to see the hard work they have put into raising this money.”
