Monica Celebrates The LGBTQI Community At Edinburgh Pride

Monica said she was delighted to be at Pride Edinburgh contributing to the cross-party speeches at the start of the march.

“The 25th anniversary year of the Scottish Parliament is a time to reflect on the reforms and rights gained by and for LGBT+ people.

From the abolition of Section 28 to the legalisation of Same-Sex marriage and the rollout of LGBT inclusive education.

Thanks to these struggles and victories, Scotland is more inclusive than it was 25 years ago.

On darker days, when it feels like hate and fear are drowning out progressive voices, we can lose hope and confidence. That’s why days like today are so important.

Now more than ever we need to stand united, behind the LGBT+ community and for progressive change in Scotland.

We must continue to work harder to build a world where there is freedom and equality for all.

Solidarity and friendship are the very essence of pride.”
